Artist Profile: Dani Prados

Dani Prados is an accomplished and versatile artist based in Granite Falls, MN. Her work spans photography, multimedia, painting, sculpture, resin casting, jewelry, and digital art. Born in Washington DC, Dani initially aspired to be a marine biologist but was captivated by the power of storytelling. This led her to a dynamic career in visual and performing arts, where she has designed, directed, produced, and constructed a wide array of creative projects.

Dani's artistic journey is marked by her engagement in theatre, narrative and experimental film, short-form content, multi-sensory art installations, immersive performances, and interactive transmedia. She has collaborated with renowned artists and institutions, including Laurie Anderson, Anohni, The Kitchen NYC, and the Women’s March. Her work consistently explores themes of community empathy and action, aiming to harness the transformative power of art.

In October 2020, Dani was named the inaugural City Artist in Residence (CAIR) for Granite Falls, MN. In this role, she uses her artistic skills to foster civic engagement, inclusivity, and equity within the community. One of her notable projects includes designing and implementing arts and cultural strategies that enhance civic participation and community engagement in city policy-making and planning.
